Salary and Allowances of selected NDA Cadets

Recruitment of candidates to Army, Navy and Air force wings of the National Defense Academy (NDA), is through National Defense Academy Entrance Exam which is held twice a year, generally in the month of April and September. They earn Rs.21000 as stiffened. After completing the training at NDA. you will go through a training period of 1 year in the different academy of your lines like AFA(air force academy), IMA (Indian military academy) and INA (Indian naval academy).
 

Salary and Allowances

Basic salary is in between:- Rs. 15.600 - 39.100 per month. Grade pay is:- Rs. 500 per month.  Military fund per month is Rs. 6,000/- so including all allowances pay becomes around 55.000.

Allowances

1.     Dearness Allowances are admissible at the same rates and under the same conditions as are applicable to the Civilian Gazetted Officers from time to time.

2.     Depending upon rank and area of posting, officer posted to Field Areas will be eligible for compensatory Highly active Field Area Allowance at the rate of Rs. 6,780/- to 8,400/- p.m. Compensatory Field Area Allowance at the rate of Rs. 4,200/- to 5,200/- p.m. and Compensatory Modified Field Area Allowance at the rate of Rs. 1,600/ to 2,000/- p.m.

3.     Transport Allowance: Transport @ Rs.3,200/- + DA thereon p.m. in A-1/A class Cities and Rs. 1600/- + DA thereon p.m. at other places shall be admissible to officers. “In the case of allowances specific to Defense Forces, the rates of these allowances have been further enhanced by 50% as Dearness Allowance has gone up by 100%”.
